Kensington is a 1-square-mile unincorporated community located north of Berkeley. This affluent, residential area flanks the popular Tilden Nature Area with many trails and nearby Lake Anza. Kensington has a small downtown area and is very convenient to Berkeley and El Cerrito. 

 

Homes in Kensington tend to be Mid-Century Modern and contemporary style homes on winding, hilly, tree-lined streets. It is much more suburban than many of the surrounding cities.

 

Transportation is relatively easy, with I-580 and I-80 a short drive down the hill. Two Transbay bus routes can take you directly to downtown San Francisco. The El Cerrito Plaza BART station is a short drive.
