Piedmont is a 2-square-mile city with award-winning schools, affluent neighborhoods, wide, hilly streets, parks, and recreation areas. This small city is totally surrounded by the much larger city of Oakland. Most of the homes were built in the 1920s and 30s while the city of Piedmont was being developed. 

 

Homes here tend to be more stately and expansive than in most of the surrounding areas. With its excellent schools and many other amenities, real estate here tends to be more expensive than in neighboring cities.

 

Transportation is fairly easy: CA-13, CA-24 and I-580 are nearby. Two transbay bus routes and a casual carpool service the area. The Rockridge BART station is only 10 minutes away by car.
